What ages do you teach?

We teach anyone aged 5 years and above. If you have a young, small child, we may ask that you join us in the water until your child feels comfortable.

What do we need to bring to the lesson?

All you need to bring are swimmers to go under your wetsuit, a towel, and a GREAT attitude, ready for lots of FUN!! Pop on some sunscreen beforehand, and meet us at the beach track where we will suit you up with a wetsuit to keep you warm, and a surfboard suited to your ability.

Where do we meet for the surf lesson?

See our map below! We usually meet at the beach track at the intersection of Warrain Crescent + Peel Street, Currarong. Sometimes based on conditions we are required to move the lesson to a different location. You will always be notified by text with plenty of notice if the lesson is being moved to a different location. PLEASE HAVE YOUR PHONE ON YOU ON THE MORNING OF YOUR LESSON OR HIRE!

I got lost/struck in traffic on my way to the lesson/hire…Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, you are not entitled to a refund in this circumstance. We will be as patient and as accommodating as possible, but we must stick to our schedule to ensure other paying customers are not impacted by your lateness. In the case where our lesson has been moved to a different location, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure the phone number used on the booking is the correct contact number for those attending the lesson. We will not be held responsible if the incorrect number was used and you were not notified of the change of location.

Do you operate in all conditions? Will my lesson be cancelled if it’s raining?

As surfers, we spend SO much of our time checking the surf/weather forecast. Unfortunately mother nature doesn’t always cooperate ! We always consider your safety before proceeding with the lesson, so if, for example, there is a lightning storm, we will postpone your lesson to another time that day/or another day that is suitable. If postponement of a lesson for this reason is not available you will be provided with a full refund.

YES ! We surf even if it’s raining… you’re going to get wet anyway !! :)

I’ve NEVER surfed before..Can I still join one of your lessons?

Absolutely !! We LOVE teaching those of you that have never surfed before, especially if it’s been a dream of yours for a while !

We’re more than happy for you to join one of our beginner group lessons. But if you’re feeling a little nervous/are not super confident in the water, perhaps an individual lesson would be the best place to start, so you can get the basics down pat before jumping in one of our groups.

Can I bring my own wetsuit and surfboard?

Yes, if you have your own wetsuit, please bring it along as you will likely be more comfortable wearing your own. If you don’t have a wetsuit, please don’t worry, we have plenty available for you!

As for your surfboard, we are happy for you to surf on your own board (in fact we love seeing that!), however if you are joining a group lesson, we will require you to use a soft top board for safety of the rest of the group.

How do we pay?

Book via the “Book now” button on our website and you will be prompted to pay as you book.

Can I hire a surf board to use after my lesson?

Yes, we do offer board hire. See pricing schedule above. Contact our team to inquire about availability or book online.

I can’t make my booked lesson, can I get a refund?

If you can no longer make your pre-booked lesson, please contact our team with at least 24 hours notice. No refunds will be given if you cancel within 24 hours of the lesson. With notice, we will reschedule your lesson, but please understand this can be difficult to accommodate particularly during holiday season.

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your experience, please contact our team via email at currarongsurfschool@gmail.com, outlining your complaint. Management will respond to your email within a reasonable time frame.
