Currarong Surf School is locally owned and operated by Sam Coulthart (nee* White). Sam grew up in Currarong and has been surfing here for over 25 years. As a former competitive longboarder, Sam has multiple State Championship titles to her name, and thus a wealth of knowledge to all things ocean + surfing! While you wouldn’t guess it when you see her suited up in a wetsuit & layers of zinc most days, Sam is also a qualified Lawyer!

Sam’s passion is making people happy, and those of you who have seen her in the surf will see from her excited smile, that is what surfing + teaching surfing does for her! After taking what she thought would be a short hiatus from practicing law, Sam committed to a lifelong dream, completed her qualifications with Surfing Australia, and founded Currarong Surf School.
